Precision Guided Humor Round-up: Detecting Media Bias
Q: How can you tell if Dan Rather is being biased?
A: His lips are moving
Come on folks, just get over it. It doesn't MATTER if the memo ordered Bush to take a physical on a day when the base medical clinic was closed - what matters is the nature of the allegations against Chimpy McHitliar. And saying so doesn't make me biased.
Or it wouldn't if I were a member of the Legacy Media. Because you'd have to show a LOT more evidence than THAT to show liberal bias, as the following Alliance Members explain:
Ferdinand of Conservative Cat takes a crack at the bias question and is immediately assaulted by a comment troll. Nope. No bias here.
Basil of Basil's Blog does some research at a Legacy Media convention, has a few drinks, and re-discovers the Babe Factor:
Most of the meetings were conducted by radical lefties. Michael Moore was there. He chaired most of the events of the day. And, at the end of the day, we had to line up and give him gifts. I forgot about this ritual, so I wasn't prepared. Luckily, Peter Jennings had an extra suckling pig in his truck, and loaned me one. Michael Moore seemed satisfied. I was so pleased.
Tom of The Nap Room can think of five dead giveaways for media bias, one of which is:
If Michael Moore is asked to be the new CBS Evening News anchor.
GEBIV of There's One, Only! shares some possible indicators, including:
Maybe if the papers ran a headline saying “BUSH IS EVIL” it would be showing media bias? Probably not. They would be able to get out of an investigation by saying that the headline was a misinterpretation of a story on poisonous plant life.
I (Harvey of Bad Example) have an interview with Dan Rather and get answers straight from the horse's orifice, including:
Harv:[...]let's see if I can understand where you guys draw the line between objectivity and bias. Take, for example, this recent headline from the CBS web site: "Bush publicly fondles woman's breast"
Dan: All true
Harv: Bush was 6 months old and breastfeeding at the time.
Dan: A grope by any other name.
Harv: So... not biased?
Dan: Nope.
Personally, I'm glad that I now know how to spot liberal bias.
Now, if only I could figure out what constituted "hate speech"...

I looked up "hate speech" in the Main Stream Media Dictionary of the English Language.
HATE SPEECH (n.) (1) Anything that offends the people at the Progressive Blog Alliance.
