New Precision Guided Humor Assignment: Saddam's Statement
Last Saturday, Saddam Hussein was finally captured by American forces. According to the "old media" the conversation went something like this:
"He said: 'I'm Saddam Hussein, I'm the president of Iraq and I'm willing to negotiate'," Major Brian Reed, operations officer for the first brigade of the Fourth Infantry Division, told reporters at the site where Saddam was found on Saturday hiding in a hole at a hut. "The response from soldiers was: 'President Bush sends his regards'."
Sure. Like I'm going to believe them.
It's time to make something up tap your best intelligence sources and tell the world the truth:
What did Saddam say when he was captured?
You can report on his statement(s) alone, or you can include the entire conversation he had with the soldiers who caught him. Your call.
